Biography: Chris Porter
received his Computer Science degree from the University of Adelaide
and a degree in Psychology from the Australian National University
(ANU). He has worked for seven years in various IT related positions
including systems administration and networking, systems engineering,
design engineering, portable systems programming and IT research. In
addition, for three years he was a cognitive research scientist in the
Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence Division of the Defence
Science & Technology Organisation.

Chris Porter has been a Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide since
February 2009.
He first studied at the University of Adelaide in the Software Engineering stream of Computer Science, and then continued with the School of Psychology after being seconded from the then Command and Control division of DSTO. This project involved the study of communication and decision making within a distributed environment, including computational linguistic analysis utilising LSA and other computational semantic techniques.
Chris has previously worked as a software engineer in multiple areas, including Defence and Banking sectors.
He is currently working on several projects including, a simulator for large wireless point-to-point and MANET environments, and building a quality of life system replete with wireless propogation in a complex environment.
His research interests include Distributed Decision Making, Information Theory, Network Design, and Programming.
