Ronnie Potter has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and manufacturing industries, providing advice in modelling and design processes, business, legal and industry knowledge. She has been a technical and business contributor on many new industry initiatives (international in scope) including the Telecommunications Management Network (TMN); the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and the Open Systems Interconnect (OSI) for data communications and the Analog Display Services Interface (ADSI).

Most recently, she has held the position of VP Sales and Contracts with Optessa USA Inc, helping to take company from start up size of 4 in 2004 to 35 in 2008. In addition, she managed the project managers responsible for the deployment of the optimized sequencing and scheduling software at three major OEMs both in North America and Europe.

Prior to this, Ronnie started up and established a company dedicated to making the Analog Display Services Interface (ADSI) happen through providing innovative ADSI server/ CPE products and services to the Regional Bell Operating Companies as well as global Telecommunication Companies and industry players.

From 1983 to 1995 she was with Bell Communications Research (now known as Telcordia Technologies Inc.), where she was technical manager for business opportunities for applying multi-media technology to new learning paradigms for education. Ronnie was also Director—CPE Network Interoperability and Director ISDN Technical Standards. During this period Ronnie spent a brief sojourn as Director of the Teletraffic Research Centre (1989-1990) at the University of Adelaide. During the period 1982-1988 Ronnie was Rapporteur in various Study Groups, viz., SG II, SG IV and SG XVIII in CCITT (now ITU).

Prior to joining Bellcore Ronnie was member of technical staff at Bell Labs undertaking teletraffic analysis and developing architectures proposed for new voice and data service.

Ronnie undertook her undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the University of Adelaide, completing her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics in 1980.
